Podcast Guest “It's a long road” is Podiatrist - Podiatrist Manos Arvanitakis. Manos holds a degree in podiatry from the University of Salford in Manchester, England, and a master's degree in podiatry from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. During his 10-year stay in England, he collaborated with large clinics, as well as football teams such as Manchester United, gaining great experience and returning to Greece as the first certified podiatrist.
He worked at the General State Hospital in Athens as a person in charge of the Diabetic Foot Department. In 1999 he founded the Podiatry Center in Kaisariani and a few years later he created two more Podiatry Centers in Kolonaki and Heraklion, Crete.
2017 was a milestone in his career as well as in the development of the science of Podiatry in Greece, with the creation of a Podiatry department at the Metropolitan College.
To this day he serves his science with passion and faith, as a Podiatrist - Podiatrist, providing his services to his patients, but also as a professor, teaching the students at the Metropolitan College.
An advocate of continuing education and lifelong learning, he continues his education at the University of Malta, where he is doing his PhD.
He is the president of the Hellenic Association of Podiatrists and Podiatrists of Greece and has worked in the past as a podiatrist with the football teams of Olympiakos and Panathinaikos, while today he works with and is part of the medical staff of the AEK football team.
Manos Arvanitakis has been involved in sports since he was young, taking championships in swimming, while in recent years he has been involved in the sport of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with participation and distinctions in pan-Hellenic, pan-European and world championships.
The podiatrist - podiatrist Manos Arvanitakis, knowing very well the problems and ailments that athletes may face in the lower limbs and how they can affect their performance, will talk to us about how important prevention and early treatment are, in creating strong, performing athletes with fewer injuries.
